Irv is a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts.
His paintings have hung in the DeYoung Museum, the Seattle Art Museum and many shows and galleries
in Southern California.
Originally from Wisconsin, he was influenced by the Midwest regional
landscape painters. After studying with such outstanding West Coast
artists as George post and Richard Diebenkorn, he became an
impressionistic painter in the style of
the California School of
Watercolor Painters. The painting to the left won the Edgar Ewing Award
at the
National Watercolor Show in May,2010.
He believes that art is a process to interpret and record ones
experiences and impressions. Irv's paintings often reflect his extensive
travels and his love of the local scene. His studio is located at his
home on the shore of Westlake Lake and his paintings often reflect the constantly changing views of the lake. Irv has served as President of the California Gold
Coast Watercolor Society on two occasions and is also a member
of the
Westlake Village Art Guild, the Thousand Oaks Plein Air Painters and the
People Sketchers group.
